Syrah 2021
Innocent BystanderMinimum order of 1 case or 6 bottles (Mixed or straight)
Syrah is a smooth, sophisticated expression of Shiraz and the cool hillsides of the Yarra Valley are perfect for making this intriguing style. Generous in fruit but restrained in oak, subtly perfumed and tantalizingly spicy it’s made to be savoured.
Pair with braised beef cheek, spicy pork pizza, hard cheeses, dark rooms, dark chocolate and dangerous ideas.

"A deepish crimson purple. This really needs a decant at present but behind the reduction lies some dark fruits and a little spice. Compact and quite firm on the palate, time will be tell if this fleshes out and becomes softer."
Predominantly hand-picked fruit from both upper and lower Yarra Valley vineyards. Cold soak for 3 days followed by 7 days on skins; 10% whole bunches used to bring the perfume. Matured for 10 months in French oak, 10% of which was new, with natural malolactic fermentation occurring.
Vineyard Region | Yarra Valley |
Wine Analysis | Alc/Vol: 14% |
Colour | Deep crimson in colour. |
Aroma | White pepper, red currant and raspberry |
Palate | Cherry compote, loganberry, spice and soft tannins. |
Peak Drinking | Cellar up to 5 years after vintage. |
Growing Conditions | A warm bud burst instigated great canopies and fruit set. January was very wet leading into a dry February and March. This provided great colour and balance. |
