Single Block Kayena Pinot Noir 2024
Minimum order of 1 case or 6 bottles (Mixed or straight)
The Single Block Pinot Noir harnesses a select block and clone of Pinot Noir to showcase its attributes. Typical Tamar Ridge tannins are balanced by supple fruit character that builds into a long finish.
The wine shows a deep intense purple colour. The nose is seductively perfumed with red current and cherry lift along with the classic bock K28 white pepper spice. On the palate the wine has power and concentration which is classic for the D4V2 clone. The French oak barriques used in maturing this wine provide structure and intensity while being perfectly integrated.
This powerful yet supple pinot noir is crying out for food. Serve with beef shin risotto and wild mushrooms or a selection of washed rind cheeses with pepper lavoush.
Block K28, one of our icon blocks from the Kayena Vineyard planted in 1998 these vines have produced two Single Block wines in 2014 our first of this name, and followed by perhaps our best in 2017. North South rows on a gentle slope these grapes produce expressive wines that speak of place.
