Tamar Ridge

Single Block Pinot Noir Rosevears 2024

94 points Halliday Wine Companion

Minimum order of 1 case or 6 bottles (Mixed or straight)

Sourced from the vineyard driveway leading to our cellar door, this wine showcases the 115 clone’s signature redcurrant and plum notes, with white spice and fine tannins.

Tasting Notes

The wine shows a vibrant crimson purple colour. The nose is very pretty with lifted currant and cranberry notes and well as a subtle clove spice. On the palate the wine is elegant and balanced while also show excellent length and power across the palate. The French oak barriques used in maturing this wine provide structure and intensity while being perfectly integrated.

Pinot sourced from a single block next to the Tamar Ridge cellar door, clone 115. There's a lovely composition here, a graceful travel, with a long draw of red and sour cherry, raspberry and red berry fruits, cut with mixed spice, light game tones, some distant crushed herbs and lightly smoked meats, wildflowers and turned earth. The raspberry tones turn up in spades on the palate, which shows gentle tannin chew and a bright mineral line.

The Art

The 2024 vintage was a touch warmer that average. The Rosevears vineyard had excellent sun exposure and we were able to pick with no pressure from the rain and at the perfect balance and ripeness. The wine continued to show complexity, length and a sense of place which convinced us to do an exclusive vineyard bottling.

Better than most French burgundies

"A great pinot noir. Balanced, enough weight to wrestle well with any meat. Best Australian Pinot I’ve tasted."
