Minimum order of 1 case or 6 bottles (Mixed or straight)
Crafted with premium Tasmanian fruit in a place where hazard meets haven, the wines in our Hazards range are rugged yet refined; named after the remarkable Hazards Mountains that serve as a backdrop to our East Coast Vineyard, The Mt Mayson Syrah is intensely coloured and deeply aromatic, with notes of bright red fruits, savoury oak and spice. A powerful expression of cool-climate Syrah showcasing great complexity, elegance and length.
A Syrah with this class and distinction screams out for quality food accompaniments. Try it with crispy roasted duck drizzled in a rich red wine jus, served on creamy garlic mashed potato and roasted beets. Or why not try it with a selection of aged cheese like cheddar and Parmesan.

Dave Brookes - Halliday Wine Companion • 18/09/2024Syrah from the Hazards vineyard on the East Coast. Partial whole bunches, 37% new French oak. Deep magenta-splashed crimson in the glass with peppery and jasmine-tinged dark and red plum fruits with hints of fine spice, wildflowers, red licorice, berry flan and softly spoken oak spice. A rush of pure dark and blue fruits on the palate with plenty of spice and peppery nuance, and tannins are fine and chewy with a slight savoury gait on the finish.
Utilizing partial whole bunches, the grapes underwent a cold soak and were plunged twice daily until fermentation, while pump overs occurred up to four times a day for optimal flavour extraction. A gentle hydraulic basket press was employed, and the wine matured in French oak barrels, with 37% being new, resulting in subtle complexity.
