This Pinot Gris is a genuine people pleaser. A zippy, citrus-driven French style that’s fresh, textural, harmonious and lingers just long enough. Not too heavy, not too light, it’s the Goldilocks of the whites.
Beer-battered whiting with chips and tartare, fresh oysters, goats' cheese and chargrilled vegies. Lofty goals and little pleasures.
Predominantly hand-picked fruit from the King Valley (80%) and Yarra Valley (20%). The fruit was destemmed and added to press. The juice was held in stainless steel and cold fermented to hold onto that freshness, while 12% matured in French oak for that lush flavour and mouthfeel. The wine was made with a range of vegan friendly fining agents.
A pale straw yellow with hints of green, reminiscent of a sunlit field of young spring grass.
Fresh cut pears, snow peas shoots and lemon thyme.
Lime flowers and miso. Crisp, bone dry and moreish with twangy lemon sorbet finish.
Best enjoyed while young and fresh.
Cool flowering led to low yields of incredible quality in the Yarra Valley, with the high altitude of the King Valley providing terrific acidity.
